Isospin observables from fragment energy spectra

چکیده
The energy spectra of light charged particles and intermediate mass fragments from 112Sn+ 112Sn and 124Sn+ 124Sn collisions at an incident energy of E/A = 50 MeV have been measured with a large array of silicon strip detectors. We used charged-particle multiplicities detected in an array with nearly 4π coverage to select data from the central collision events. We study isospin observables analogous to ratios of neutron and proton spectra, including double ratios and yield ratios of triton/3He and of asymmetries constructed from fragments with Z = 3–8. Using the energy spectra, we can construct these observables as functions of kinetic energy. Most of the fragment asymmetry observables have a large sensitivity to sequential decays.

0 Effect of nucleon exchange on projectile multifragmentation in the reactions of 28 Si + 112 Sn and 124 Sn at 30 and 50 MeV / nucleon
Multifragmentation of quasiprojectiles was studied in reactions of Si beam with Sn and Sn targets at projectile energies 30 and 50 MeV/nucleon. The quasiprojectile observables were reconstructed using isotopically identified charged particles with Zf ≤ 5 detected at forward angles. The nucleon exchange between projectile and target was investigated using isospin and excitation energy of reconst...

Multifragmentation reactions without large compression in the initial state (proton-induced reactions, reverse-kinematics, projectile fragmentation) are examined, and it is shown that the high temperatures obtained from fragment kinetic energy spectra and lower temperatures obtained from observables such as level population or isotope ratios can be understood in a common framework.
متن کاملIsospin symmetry breaking
We discuss the separation of isospin-symmetric and isospin-breaking contributions in the hadronic observables within the framework of QCD plus QED. Further, we briefly review some recent work on the low-energy hadron phenomenology, in which the isospin-breaking effect plays a prominent role.
متن کاملConstraints on the density dependence of the symmetry energy.
Collisions involving 112Sn and 124Sn nuclei have been simulated with the improved quantum molecular dynamics transport model. The results of the calculations reproduce isospin diffusion data from two different observables and the ratios of neutron and proton spectra. By comparing these data to calculations performed over a range of symmetry energies at saturation density and different represent...
